Welcome to Ashby, a progressive community in a setting of beautiful lakes, farms and friendly people.

You'll find Ashby located in west central Minnesota on Highway 78, 150 miles northwest of Minneapolis, and 80 miles southeast of Fargo, ND.  Located 3 miles off Interstate 94 between Fergus Falls and Alexandria.

"You'll Like Ashby!"  That's what the sign says-and after a visit to Ashby, most folks will agree.

Ashby is a small, friendly community located in a setting of beautiful lakes, farms and scenic woodlands.  Ashby has a thriving business district; including a medical clinic, nursing home, many retail stores and a full line of professional services.  Ashby

is protected by a volunteer fire department and ambulance service.  Ashby is also protected by its own police department.  In addition to numerous clubs and service organizations, there are a variety of denominational churches in and around the area.

Ashby offers many community activities including a charity golf tournament on the ice in February, the "Coots Unlimited" annual banquet in May and a large Appreciation Days Celebration in July with a full day of activities which includes a free lunch provided by area businesses and a large parade and community dance.

campgrounds and bed and breakfast welcome visitors all year.  Pelican Lake, just south of Ashby, is one of the largest lakes in the area and is perfect for fishing, sailing, or water-skiing.  A well-groomed, paved hiking/biking/snowmobiling trail passes through Ashby.  In addition various city parks, there is a newly completed Memorial Park which offers a beautiful setting to view wildlife, a variety of plants and trees, or ice skating in the winter.  Lake Christina, a widely recognized waterfowl lake, as well as plenty of public hunting areas, provide excitement for the hunting enthusiast.

expansion of Ashby's elementary and high school facilities reflects the community's support and concern for quality education.

The newly developed "Country View Estates" has provided the city with 38 new residential lots.  Improvements such as water, sewer, storm sewer, streets, etc. are due to be finished August of 2006.  These lots will be ready to be built on at this time.  More information is available on the Country View Estates link.
